Orchids 2016 @ Kew Gardens

As a treat on mothers day, me my mother and my grandmother went to see the celebration of Brazil’s plant life and habitis at the Orchid festival in the Princess of Wales Conservatory at Kew Gardens. February is carnival season in Brazil and this festival definitely bought some of that atmosphere to Kew! It was like stepping inside tropical paradise full of dazzling tropical colours. It was filled with ‘rainforest tree’ sculptures, covered in Oncidium orchids and bromeliads and other tropical plants from Brazil and around the world. What struck me was the beautiful orchids which hung from the ceiling in different colours! I took lots of photographs – but here are a selection.
