“Mademoiselle Privé, a journey through the origins of CHANEL’s creations capturing the charismatic personality and irreverent spirit of Mademoiselle Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld.”
Living in London, I was lucky enough to visit the Chanel exhibition for free at the Saatchi Gallery. It was such an amazing, mesmerizing and unforgettable exhibition that played with all my senses. The exhibition featured quirky illustrations, animations and paper-made dressing tables with Mademoiselle Chanel narrating the story of Chanel in the background. The scent of Chanel no.5 filled the atmosphere. There was a room completely draped of delicate fabrics from the ceiling to the floor which you could get lost in. Jewelry sparkled with encrusted diamonds as it turned around in an enchanting cage, as I watched it fascinatingly turn around and round, it sent me back to my childhood, when I used to rotate the dial on my favorite musical trinket box just to watch the pop up ballerina spin around so beautifully to the tune of swan lake. To end this exhibition, an entire floor with a phenomenal display of classical Chanel garments which perfectly imitated a catwalk or show.
